There are two FREE PDA applications available for download TRANSISTORS and GUITAR
TRANSISTORS.
This program is suited to the technician or engineer who works in the repair and maintenance field. The number and variety of transistor types that a technician comes across daily can be quite mind blowing. Instead of trying to stock every conceivable device in creation, the ideal solution is to keep a good cross section available in the workshop stock. This is great, but even a modest stock can easily exceed 70 to 80 devices. Now of course, trying to remember the main characteristics of each of those devices! - impossible? This is where this PDA software application comes in so handy. For example, lets say youre working on a piece of equipment and locate a faulty transistor whos type identification has been totally obliterated (not unusual!). From the circuit the device is in you can figure out the main characteristics required for a replacement. OK, now which one of the 78 in stock will do the trick? Hmmm...??? Easy solution.... pull out your PDA, tap the screen a few times and BINGO! The program TRANSISTORS is a PDA database application that lets you store and manage as many transistors as you require (memory permitting). Stored information about each transistor is CE voltage, BE voltage, Collector current, HFE, PNP/NPN and package. Your can elect to download and install the application for your PDA only, or you can download the full software suite which comprises the PDA application as well as a PC based interface program that you can use to manage your PDA transistor database with ease from your PC.
GUITAR This is a handy little program for the PDA if you are a guitarist. Tune your guitar using the output from your PDA. All six strings are provided for in two differing timings.
